Quit Q&A

Need help?

If I relapse, will quitting be even harder next time?

Not necessarily. We learn from every quit attempt. Statistically speaking, the more times you've tried to quit, the better your odds of staying quit this time. And if you've quit for extended periods before, that's a good indicator that you will be successful in the future. You already know that you are capable of making it through withdrawal, have a good idea of what to expect, and have practiced some techniques to help get you through. Compare your quit-attempts to learning to ride a bike - you fell once-upon-a-time, but that doesn't mean you didn't learn anything about how to ride, or that you shouldn't try again! Plan ahead for your previous relapse triggers, so you can keep this quit going strong.
