What are the danger signs of smokeless tobacco-related disease?

Since pain is not often an early symptom of spit-related disease, regular dental inspections are a must if you use smokeless tobacco- or have in the past. Watch for some of these early signs of oral cancer (oral cancer is particularly hard to treat and can spread quickly to other parts of the body): a lump or white patch on tongue, lip, or cheek; a sore in the or around the mouth that does not heal; a prolonged sore throat; difficulty in chewing; restricted movement of the tongue or jaws; or a feeling of something in the throat.
