Smoking is a risk factor for dementia, with 14% of Alzheimer’s disease possibly attributed to smoking. Secondhand smoke exposure is also thought to be a risk factor. The World Health Organization states that quitting should be a top priority for prevention of dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
