Quit Q&A

Need help?

Are there other medications to help me quit?

Drugs like clonidine and nortriptyline have been applied to smoking cessation with varying levels of success. These medications generally have more severe side-effects than Chantix or Zyban, and are considered 'second-line defenses'. So far, only Zyban/Wellbutrin, Chantix/Champix, and NRT's (nicotine patch, losenge, gum, inhaler, nasal spray) have been evaluated or approved by the FDA for safe use in smoking cessation.
