How do I decide what dose of lozenge to use?

Like the nicotine gum, the lozenge is available in both 2mg and 4mg doses (per lozenge). If you smoke your first cigarette more than 30 minutes after waking up, use the 2 mg strength. If you smoke your first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking up, use the 4 mg strength. The ‘Time to First Cigarette’ principle has been used for a long time in the Fagerstrom Addiction scale as an indicator of dependency levels. Smokers that reach for a cigarette within 30 minutes of awakening are considered more heavily addicted.
