A lot of smokers have complicated feelings about quitting. They know smoking isn’t good for them, but there are some things they like about it. It can help to write up a pros and cons list. This allows you to think about whether the benefits of quitting outweigh your reasons to keep smoking. As you make the list, ask yourself these questions:
- What has smoking done for me?
- How has smoking affected me? People around me?
- If I keep smoking, what are the consequences?
- What are the benefits of quitting for me? For my family?
