Apply a new patch at the start of each day. You can put it anywhere on your body that is clean, dry, and hairless. Don't cut the patch in half, because that can give your body too much nicotine at one time.
Don’t use lotion on the skin under your patch, because it won’t stick. Don’t put the patch on over any tattoos. We don’t know if the tattoo will affect the way the patch works, or if the patch might change the color of your tattoo.
Some patches are designed to be worn for 24 hours, while others are designed to be used for 16 hours or less. When it’s time to put on a new patch, take off the old one, fold it in half, and throw it away in a place that’s out of reach of kids and pets. Apply a new one to a different place on your skin.
