Taking this medication requires a little bit of planning. You need a prescription from your doctor, and you begin taking it before you quit.
Start taking the medication 2 weeks before your quit date.
Days 1 to 3: Take 1 tablet (150mg).
Day 4 and onward: Take 1 tablet in the morning and 1 in the evening. If you miss a dose, just take the regular dose at the next regular time.
Bupropion is generally prescribed for 7 to 12 weeks. Your doctor may tell you to take it for a bit longer to help prevent you from starting to smoke again.
